The Greenland Mineral Resources Portal is under development in a joint project between BMP and GEUS started mid-2011. The web-site was ready in its first version by January 2012, when it was opened for a test run by BMP and GEUS. The site was officially opened to international public users March 2012. Further development is on-going, though at a limited level in 2012. In 2013 the development activities are expected to pick up speed again.

From GEUS the following have been involved in the development work for the construction of the Greenland Mineral Resources Portal: Leif Thorning, Mikael Pedersen, Martin Hansen, Tjerk Heijboer, Marianne B. Weise, Marianne Vestergaard, and Carsten Thuesen. From BMP, especially Benjamin Greve and Henrik Stendal have been involved (as of 15 February 2012).
